I'M A HUSBAND, FATHER AND A CEO
Dwayne “DCat” Cornelius, CEO of DCat Music Company and Just A Minute Music Library, is a music publisher, platinum engineer, producer, musician and entrepreneur. DCat has worked with legendary artists since the tender age of fifteen, even becoming part of the Parliament-Funkadelic universe. DCat has played drums in Natalie Cole's touring band and worked with members of the Jackson Family, Billy Preston, Mary Wells, Womack & Womack, Bobby Womack, and Earth, Wind & Fire. As an engineer, DCat has recorded for major labels working closely with Snoop Dogg, George Clinton, Omarion, Tyrese, Chingy, Kurrupt and many others.
After appearing in Shout with John Travolta, Heather Graham, and Gwyneth Paltrow, DCat moved to Europe in the 90’s, touring with Womack & Womack, performing with Carlos Santana, and recording with Bonnie Raitt and Scatman John. After establishing himself as a recording artist in his own right in Denmark, DCat returned to his hometown of Los Angeles and became the Vice-President of Heavy Harmony Music Publishing. With Heavy Harmony he administrated multi-platinum releases for Bette Midler, Jay-Z, as well as Baha Men’s “Who Let The Doggs Out” and Hanson during the peak of their massive “MMMBob” hit.
Today, DCat’s production and management company, DCat Music, has grown from managing independent platinum producers, and artists, to a full-service film and television library under the brand Just A Minute Music. J.A.M.M. After all that, DCat Cornelius then obtained his Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Degree from Berklee College of Music in Music Business and Production. DCat will receive his Masters Degree in Music Administration from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in Spring 2023. If God says the same.
